  The reason for the rating is as follows: Dr Peskin made my child fear him telling me they were scared doctor was going to shout at mum. My other child also noticed the unkind manner in which he spoke to me. Despite signs on surgery walls saying "see the person not the label" for years he misinterpreted my reasons for visiting. Sometimes I would wait a year or months before mentioning a problem even for my children and I would point out how long I had the problem but the stigma would continue. He prescribed Statins for cholesterol in the low 5's so when partner told him he would try diet instead (reduced to mid 4's without Statins) Dr Peskin still misinformed consultant by saying he was taking Statins unaware he had never taken them. He did not get back to my partner after advice received from consultant which my partner had been chasing for weeks. A good gp should be taking us off drugs not vice versa to make money for the med reps and pharmaceutical companies. Diabetes also could be cured through a diet but he would probably prefer to prescribe drugs. Dr Peskin also would not allow results to be given and requested he see me so after I lost a days pay from work to do so he said he could not interpret results!! Not medically knowlegable as he also was unaware that H. Pylori causes iron inabsorbtion, a well known medical fact. He insisted a 9 month long problem was due to something else despite me endlessly insisting it was not and not allowing me to speak literally one day and I have since found out I was correct all along. He asked my partner and myself separately what we think is the problem when visiting him. My partner replied, I don't know your the doctor! My partner wanted a referral to which Dr insisted would be "thrown out". With new GP he had an appointment 2 weeks later and is now awaiting further tests. The Practice Manager Bina Pandya did not deal with the issues but gave us no choice but to find an alternative surgery. However, when i complained in the past i received a letter from the practice and a telephone apology from Dr Peskin. However, this was under a different Practice Manager. In hindsight we wished we had moved earlier.
